This Quarter at Mobile Jazz

Welcome to the Mobile Jazz spring bulletin! This quarter we celebrated the first anniversary of our decision to go fully remote, a decision that’s had a hugely positive impact on our overall business. We also released our company handbook, which went viral straight away and is racing toward 100,000 downloads. So we’ve had plenty of reasons to celebrate over the last few weeks.

Transforming Digital Marketing: Mobile Jazz and socialPALS

Partnerships are hatched in some funny places.

Ben and Jerry met while running round a track. Sergey Brin met Larry Page while giving him a tour round college. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were introduced by a mutual friend, who thought they’d get along because they both loved practical jokes.

Heartbeat Cloud: The Genius of Simplicity

Another fascinating project we’ve worked on over the past few months is Heartbeat Cloud, a software as a service (SaaS) application we’ve been working on in tandem with our awesome Icelandic partner, Code North.

The product is designed to take existing enterprise resource planning systems (the tools many companies use to manage their business processes) and extend them into rich user experiences that can be mastered by any employee, even a digital novice.

Our mission is to help Code North make business simpler for everyone, and you can read about it here.

A Blueprint for Modern Working: The Mobile Jazz Company Handbook

People are totally astounded when we tell them we have no office. Not just general members of the public – even new potential employees.

After going fully remote last year, we decided to create an onboarding guide to help new members understand and integrate with the team quickly and easily. During the past few months that we’ve been writing and designing, this onboarding guide has evolved so much, it’s become as much a mission statement as an onboarding tool.

So we decided to share the document with the world, in the hope it would inspire other people to go remote. The document has proved a viral smash, racking up 50,000 views on the first day of release, and it’s still going.

Take a look at the document and tell us what you think. We’d be delighted to answer any questions you might have.
